Die Architektin Carin Fürst ist seit 2003 aktive Upcyclerin. Damals begann sie ungenutzte Materialen zu bearbeiten, aufzuwerten und in Schmuck zu verwandeln. Die Beschäftigung mit und das Upcyceln von Müll ließ sie die ausgesonderten Materialien um sich herum, von einem anderen Gesichtspunkt aus betrachten. Upcycling ist für Carin Fürst eine Antwort auf die Frage der Abfallreduzierung.
In ihrem Schmuck findet man Maschinenteile, kleine Details aus vintage Kostümschmuck, verschiedene Textilien, Materialfragmente aus Labors und gefundene Objekte. Durch die wunderbar passenden Farben, Formen und Komponenten zeigt Carin Fürst, dass sie Materialien, die als Abfall abgestempelt worden sind, in einzigartige Schmuckstücke verwandeln kann.

The architect Carin Fürst is an active ‘upcycler’ since 2003. That´s when she started working with unnoticed materials, refining and turning them into jewellery. The upcycling process originated in her mind as a solution for the ‘waste reduction’ issue. Working this way she started to have a closer look on useless materials around her.
In Carin Fürst´s jewellery we can find parts of industrial machines, small details of vintage costume jewellery, different textiles, material fragments from laboratories and „objects trouves“. The beautiful matching colours, shapes and components give you a new point of view on materials that are normally considered to be waste.
